Remarks

Richard’s notes: There was a 3 way tie for 2nd place. All 3 had equal Buch and Med
points and there was a 3 way triangle with regard comparative scores. ISF rules only requires a play
off to decide the winner and not other places in tournaments. For this reason I asked the 3 players
concerned whether they wanted to play a duel “3 way” play-off to decide medal places. I explained
that majority vote wins and if they decided not to play-off then they would have to share
2nd place. They all decided a guaranteed silver medal was much better than a 3 way
play-off where 1 player gets a silver medal, one gets a Bronze and one gets a handshake. Having seen
the medals, who can blame them. They are the best quality medals I have seen at any Stratego
event. One of the reasons I am looking forward to next year’s MSO.
